Case Study: Golf Digest

For Condé Nast and GolfDigest.com, Peersuasion has created a branded Web game with a powerful word-of-mouth engine. “Drive for the Green” combines a fun, Web-based golf game with a robust Peersuasion backend. Users of any skill level can play and enjoy the golf game, which is branded with sponsor names and links, a custom golf ball, and Florida golf greens complete with flamingoes and alligators.

Users register and select a screenname to play. They play through three scenarios — driving, chip shot, putting. High scores are posted on the leaderboard. The game ties in to a refer-a-friend program, so that users can invite their friends to play — and spread the word about the magazine and game sponsors.

Users get one entry for registering to play and an additional entry for every friend who registers.

Results:
